As a recent repatriate, I’m often asked How do I like Alaska? The truth is there isn’t any place better for me – It’s very personal and I love it. My family and I have been living in and out of this state since 1977, so I am humbled to call it home again. Much like markets, I like to reflect on how small changes can play such a significant factor in the direction of lives. Start with the right initial conditions, and then time and a nudge or two can have profound effects. I was lucky enough to have met Evan, Brandy, Bill and fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to work here professionally.
While I have many mentors in the world of investments, the one I continually return to is Buffet’s “Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” Starting small, nurturing growth, controlling risk, and having the patience to let time do the heavy lifting all factor into how I approach investments.
So it is with great enthusiasm I look forward to building relationships across APCM’s clients, and helping them succeed in their investment goals. When not working, you can find me in the Chugach or Kenai mountains. My top three (non-finance) passions are fishing, hunting and the arts.
