APCM Announces a New CEO

On April 2, the anticipated acquisition of Alaska Permanent Capital Management by an Anchorage-based company, Blue Umbrella, was completed.
I would like to open with gratitude for your patience and support over the last several months as APCM begins this new chapter. To our clients, the Rose family, Blue Umbrella, and our incredible APCM employees who made this possible: thank you for your confidence, your inquiries, and your continued trust in our firm.
As I transition into the role of Chief Executive Officer, I often think back to Dave Rose, who started this firm with the vision of providing high-quality, customized investment advice to Alaskan communities. Over the last thirty years, APCM has grown into this vision and become a steadfast partner, supporter, and advisor to organizations across the state. Evan took on the stewardship of APCM and this vision following the passing of his father, improving and expanding our ability to advise organizations and individuals across the state. I am humbled to follow in their footsteps, but I do so with the confidence of having the benefit of their mentorship and examples to follow.
I will continue to stress that taking care of our clients will ultimately leave our communities and clients in a better place. As market dynamics continue to evolve, so will APCM, and how we provide services that meet the needs of our clients.
I am a lifelong Alaskan and started at APCM in 2002. Outside of the office, I enjoy the outdoors/adventures, family, and friends. Over the coming months, I am looking forward to the opportunity to get out and see those of you in different parts of the state. Being out in the communities that we are privileged to work with and become partners with is by far the most gratifying and rewarding aspect of our work here at APCM.
I want to leave you with three takeaways:
1. My door is open to you. If you need anything, contact me directly at bill@apcm.net or 907-646-3526. Or if you are in Anchorage and have a few minutes, please don’t hesitate to stop in for a chat. (Office: 3800 CenterPoint Drive, Suite 910).
2. APCM’s focus going forward remains on the client as it has always been. I am excited for the opportunity to serve our clients, and have the confidence that I will be able to deliver as we move forward with the same leadership team beside me. Brandy Niclai continues in her position as the Chief Investment Officer for Multi-Asset Strategies. Evan Rose will stay on board over the next 12 months to provide continuity and ensure a smooth transition, and will also retain his duty as Chief Compliance Officer. Blake Phillips will continue to oversee client relationships and focus on business development as Director of Institutional Solutions. APCM employees have worked extremely hard as we worked through the transition. I am invigorated by their resolve to remain focused on their work and maintain continuity for clients.
3. Over the next few months, I will be reaching out to our clients to listen to what you need, how APCM has performed, and what APCM can do for you moving forward. I’d like to hear from you about what you think works and how you are evolving.
I believe we have a great firm, and our mission is important to me. As I take on this leadership role, many of our goals remain unchanged. You have my commitment to listen.
Respectfully,
Bill Lierman
Alaska Permanent Capital Management Company, LLC.
